SBA List calls for pro-lifers to unite behind Romney

The Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life group, endorsed Mitt Romney after he effectively clinched the nomination in April, and is making a fresh appeal for unity today.

In the National Review, the group's president Marjorie Dannenfelser writes that Romney doesn't "just check the pro-life box", but has promised a more extensive anti-abortion agenda that includes defunding Planned Parenthood and picking a pro-life Veep.

It is the responsibility of all pro-life voters to now unite behind Governor Romney.

Together we can put a pro-life leader in the White House.

While the two sides are reconciled now, it wasn't always pretty between Romney and the group.

Last summer, Romney refused to sign the group's pro-life pledge that he viewed as too far-reaching.

In her piece today, Dannenfelser applies a much more presentable sheen to the disagreement.

In response to the Susan B. Anthony List’s Pro-life Presidential Leadership Pledge, Governor Romney published his own Pro-life Pledge.
