Ann Romney might bump Rubio from big slot

Steve Hayes reports that the RNC is seriously considering replacing Marco Rubio with Ann Romney for the plum role of introducing Mitt Romney at the convention on Thursday night.

Mrs. Romney’s speech was initially scheduled for Monday night, but the big three television networks won’t be covering the convention that night, so the Romney campaign and Republican officials have scrambled over the last several days to ensure her speech gets the widest coverage possible.

It could be a big disappointment for Rubio, but giving Ann the gig and linking her speech to Mitt's really does seem like the natural thing to do if you're intent on Rolling Out The Romney's.

Husbands often seem softer and warmer when they're paired up with their wives, and warmth and softness is something Romney's public image has been missing.
