Gibbs: Romney campaign is the one pushing the "cancer ad"

Senior adviser to the Obama campaign, Robert Gibbs, on The Daily Rundown, after being pressed this morning over a pro-Obama Super PAC's ad that seems to suggest that Mitt Romney helped contribute to a woman's death from cancer.

Gibbs:

"Let me tell you, this has been perpetuated mostly by the Romney campaign. Let me tell you this, Chuck -- the Romney campaign long ago gave up their opinion to be pious on this ad and to be pious on any ad."

He then shifted to an attack on Mitt Romney's ad blaming Barack Obama for gutting welfare, but Todd quickly returned to the cancer ad.

TODD: Are you comfortable with that ad that Priorities ran? Are you personally, are you comfortable with that ad?

GIBBS: Chuck, I don't have any control over that ad.
