Mitt Romney, explaining that 1984 photo of himself and his Bain buddies holding dollar bills.
“Oh, that was a moment of humor as we had just done what we thought was impossible: We had raised $37 million from other people and institutions who entrusted us with their funds, and we thought it was a miracle that our group had been able to be so successful in fundraising.”
Supposedly, that photo is supposed to be damaging or something.
But think about it this way -- it's sort of just the corporate version of a fisherman who takes a picture of himself standing proudly next to the giant fish he just caught.
Right? It's just the celebration of success.
The funny thing is that the pic hasn't resonated like Romney's foes always promised because, hey, it's America, and that 280 lb. Tarpon is pretty impressive, and we'd probably all take a picture of ourselves with it.
