James Pindell reports on their Monday engagement:
Romney and Ryan are expected to make a Manchester area stop, according to the campaign.
.... This will be the first time that Ryan has been to New Hampshire since February 2010. Originally, Ryan was scheduled to be in New Hampshire last Friday when he was to be officially announced as Romney’s running mate. That didn’t happen due to funerals being held that day for a mass shooting that took place in Ryan’s Wisconsin Congressional District.
WMUR released a poll earlier this week showing Barack Obama holding a 3% lead in the state.
Obama has led in 5 of 6 New Hampshire polls this year, but at one point last year, Romney led in nine straight polls. One possible reason for the reversal is that Romney spent a lot of time in the state last year, while stumping in the GOP primary.
But... stretching back to his days as governor, he's always been a well-known figure in the state, and you'd think opinions of him would be fairly concrete by now. But there's just been a drastic shift toward Obama in New Hampshire polling over the past year.
