2016 watch: Bob McDonnell to Iowa for GOP event
VA Gov. Bob McDonnell will head to Iowa next month to keynote the state GOP's annual Ronald Reagan Dinner, which is the state's major party fundraiser.
McDonnell, of course, is widely-seen as having presidential designs, and his socially conservative background (not to mention his haircut) would fit snugly with GOP caucus-goers.
If McDonnell runs, it'll be interesting to see whether he sells himself as a fiscal problem-solver (ala his gubernatorial run in 2009) or as a strong, social conservative. Of course, he'll try to be both depending on the context and state, but which perception will strike potential voters as truer?
