During his performance and in the immediate aftermath, the conventional wisdom was that he stepped on Mitt Romney's big night and was nothing short of a disaster.
But over the past week, that perception has changed.
It turns out that viewers thought it was funny and different, and notably.... popular with independents -- which is just what Eastwood was shooting for.
