Gallup: Clinton hits stage tonight with record ratings

Gallup has a new poll out, measuring the favorable ratings of the Democrats' biggest speakers -- Bill Clinton, Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden.

Not surprisingly, the ones who aren't in elective politics blow away the ones who are.

1. Bill Clinton 69%/27% for +42%.

2. Michelle Obama 65%/27% for +38%.

3. Barack Obama 53%/46% for +7%.

4. Joe Biden 44%/45% for -1%.

These polls are always interesting but plagued with caveats. Ex-presidents and first ladies are always far more popular than current presidents and vice-presidents.

If Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama were pounding out partisan diatribes every week, you'd see a very quick plummet.
