Martinez expected to stump for Romney in Florida, Nevada

She's been pretty quiet since her strong RNC convention speech, but KOAT in New Mexico reports that NM Gov. Susana Martinez is planning to campaign for Mitt Romney in the Hispanic-heavy states of Florida and Nevada in the coming weeks.

That's great news for Romney, although you can bet that the Obama campaign will point out her recent criticism of both Romney's "47%" comments and his invocation of the term "self-deportation" at every possible opportunity.

If you remember, Martinez famously (well, for political junkies) said "Self-deport? What the heck does that mean?" a few months after Romney talked about the concept during the GOP primary.

But that shouldn't diminish how effective a surrogate she can be, and you can also bet that 2016 watchers will watch her keenly.
