Restore Our Future makes Wisconsin, Michigan buys

The pro-Mitt Romney Super PAC, Restore Our Future, is going up with this new spot in Wisconsin and Michigan -- at a buy of about $1 million in each state.

Three things to note:

1. It puts the lousy economy in the context of a daughter who was born in year 1 of Obama and has now started kindergarten -- one permutation of the "are you better off?" argument.

Is her future getting brighter, the narrator asks, before running off rough numbers like the real unemployment rate and the debt.

2. This is the second time in as many weeks that allies of Romney or Romney himself have used a fictitious daughter to anchor an ad. That's a clear nod to the gender gap.

3. The buys in Michigan and Wisconsin are a sign that Romney doesn't want to concede a shrinking battleground. Wisconsin might be in play, but nothing's indicated the same about Michigan since the Democratic convention.
