AFL-CIO gears up for huge GOTV

The Hill's Kevin Bogardus reports:

The AFL-CIO is a preparing a massive get-out-the-vote operation for the final four days before the election.

Along with its super-PAC, Workers’ Voice, and Working America, the AFL-CIO’s community affiliate group, the labor federation is seeing the culmination of what it calls its largest political field program ever. Unions will contact millions of voters by knocking on doors, sending mailers and making phone calls in the final days of the 2012 campaign.

.... More than 128,000 volunteers will participate in the AFL-CIO’s final get-out-the-vote operation. In the last four days before Election Day, they plan to knock on 5.5 million doors, make 5.2 million phone calls, hand out 2 million leaflets at work sites and send out 12 million pieces of direct mail.

The group called Ohio, Wisconsin, and Nevada "key firewall states".
