Greg Anthony (aka former point guard for UNLV, teammate of Larry Johnson, Stacy Augmon, Anderson Hunt and a pretty gutsy New York Knick), has cut a new ad for Mitt Romney that will run in Nevada.
It's a strong spot, particularly because Anthony endorsed Barack Obama in 2008.
"I voted for Barack Obama, thought he'd be a centrist. I really lost faith in him. I'm supporting Mitt Romney. He's a no excuse kind of guy, and I think over the last four years, we've heard enough excuses. I just don't believe we can afford four more years like the last four years."
Now, this isn't exactly a scenario where Anthony steps on a political ledge in the face of a lifetime of political activism. That would have been 2008 when he did that and endorsed Obama.
At one point in his life, he served as the Vice-Chairman of Nevada's Young Republicans, so there's some history with the party there.
Having said that, it doesn't diminish his disappointment with Obama nor the fact that he represents and can potentially speak to and for the many Obama supporters in '08 that Romney needs to jump ship.
