John McCain on Fox News this morning, literally shaking his head back-and-forth about Barack Obama calling the deaths in Libya "not optimal".
"The optimal line, of course, is very regrettable and makes me a little sad.
But for him to say that every piece of information they got they laid out to the American people is one of the most disingenuous statements I ever heard."
Obama's comments about the Benghazi controversy have stirred controversy for their rather stoic description of a tragedy.
He made them during an interview that aired on The Daily Show.
"Here’s what I’ll say. When four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal. We’re going to fix it. All of it."
Obama's defenders have strained to note that host Jon Stewart used the word "optimal" first, but that doesn't change the reality that the president used the words "not optimal" when describing the deaths of Americans.
