Romney makes $13.6 million swing state buy

CNN reports:.

Mitt Romney's team has made one of its largest ad buys since the beginning of the general election campaign, purchasing an estimated $13.6 million of commercial time this week in nine swing states, according to data from a source tracking media buys.

With recent polls showing Romney gaining ground in Florida, his campaign has been devoting more of its ad dollars there than any other state, investing $3.5 million this week for commercials running Monday through Sunday.

In order, here are the states where the buy is heaviest: 1) Florida 2) Ohio 3) Virginia 4) Colorado 5) Iowa 6) North Carolina 7) Wisconsin 8) Nevada and 9) New Hampshire.

You can't necessarily equate dollars spent with relative importance, because some media markets are more expensive; thus, requiring more money for the same effect.

But it's notable that Wisconsin makes the list just behind North Carolina, which is proof that the Romney team isn't confident NC is in the bag, nor that they think Obama has Wisconsin in the bag.
