Which controversy could hurt Obama in debate?

The Hill's A.B. Stoddard nails it when tells Fox News that Libya could buffet* Barack Obama in the first debate, while Fast and Furious isn't likely to cause any severe problems.

Re: Libya:

"The Libya story certainly is terrible for the Administration. They couldn't have handled it more poorly. And if there's evidence in the weeks to come that there was an intentional misleading of the public -- that would be very damaging for him.

Mitt Romney needs to play that correctly, however. Needs to continue sell himself and leave it to surrogates to beat up on the Administration about Libya."

Re: Fast and Furious:

"I don't think it's ever entered the presidential campaign debate, I don't think it's going to change any undecided voters' minds."

*Lest there be any confusion, I use "buffet" here in a "cause severe discomfort" kind of way; not a Golden Corral kind of way.
