Adams County agony

Early yesterday, Republicans were buyoued by a report that Mitt Romney was running competitively in Adams County, Colorado -- a suburb just north of Denver.

Why were they so cheered about that?

Adams hasn't voted Republican since 1984.

Well, in the end, that streak remained. Barack Obama cleaned up in Adams County with a 56%-41% win. That seemed fitting to describe a night where Romney underperformed in numerous key counties across the country, including Hamilton County, Ohio and Hillsborough County, Florida.
